Invisible, intangible, yet all powerful,
This magnetic strength that keeps us bound.
I repel, I rebel, and pull away
But there is no escape from that sound.
It’s your beating heart and your heavy breath,
And the energy that fills the room.
It’s a vivid life and a violent death
From which new life might one day bloom.
But as this strength keeps us bound
Today and for days to come,
It consumes my sanity and spins me around
In an endless, exhausting storm.
Being with you is like a terminal disease;
It damages my body and soul.
But without you, I am down on my knees,
Unhappy, powerless and un-whole.
