There was a time

Melting clock

There was once a time for us; a time when we both had the time but deliberately chose to not invest it in one another. You feared my unleashed mind, I feared your unknown ways, and so we spent our time pretending we had no time for each other.

And what time is it now?

It is a time when we are both tied up; busy with the unnecessary necessities we consciously chose to drift us apart. Consumed by our pseudo-obligations, we now do not have the luxury of making time for an “us” to thrive.

Me, in a whirlpool of busy-ness, you in a chaos of ‘have to’s, we each go around and around, enclosed inside a ticking clock of how little time we have to spare. Our souls yearn for time with each other where we can talk, or fall silent, or take a walk, or shine with brilliance that only illuminates when we are together.

But we no longer have the time; we are doomed to dullness and to a timelessly ticking clock that augments just how much time is wasted when we choose to not delve into our fears and to not experience our true destinies.

Maybe some other time.

Maybe some other time.
